  • Abstract
Steady-state simulation of a power electronic system is often necessary to check its performances. Fast and efficient simulation methods have been already proposed. However they are for a single- rate periodicity system during one switch period and not for a multi-rate periodicity system which has a short and a long multi-rate periods. It takes a lot of CPU time to solve the multi-rate system with a single- rate technique. This paper proposes a new extended envelope following method for multi-rate steady-state analysis which solves a boundary value condition set. The condition set is solved by the Newton-Raphson iteration where a sensitivity matrix is efficiently evaluated by the EF approximation. A buck converter example with a DC motor load which has a long multi- rate period is shown.
