Abstract
Summary form only given. Areal density growth has instigated the development of higher performance and lower cost disc drives. This has enabled us to fulfill the demands from new enterprise, desktop and consumer applications. The achievement of 100Gb/in2 areal density is a milestone to be reported in this presentation. The recording demonstration employed fully integrated magnetic recording heads and multi-layer antiferromagnetic coupled (AFC) media.
