  • Abstract
The aim of this study was to delineate the effects of the Chinese emotional content words of stimuli on event-related potentials (ERPs) in 22 healthy subjects while they performed a faster visual continuous words recognition task. The study used two way of words recognition task. In task 1, a lexical decision task, and in task 2, a word identification task that participants responded faster to concrete (negative, positive) than to abstract words (neutral), press right buttons finding positive and left buttons of negative. For each words category, the ERPs shows that a typical difference between emotional and neutral words beginning 160 ms (P1), 350 ms (N2), 490 ms (P3), 650 ms (N3), 700 ms (P4) after stimulus, and the effect was significantly difference between the negative and positive words in the prefrontal cerebral cortex (FZ, FCZ, F3/4, FC3/4, F7/8, FT7/8) beginning 650 ms (N3) after stimulus pointing to a significant influence of the emotional content of Chinese words on verbal information process
