Abstract
The doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is an excellent choice as a wind turbine-generator. Presently, sensorless decoupled P-Q control of the DFIG requires detail knowledge of the parameters (resistances and inductances) of the machine. This paper presents a method by which the decoupled P-Q controller can be designed without knowing the parameters. Implicitly, the design is robust against parameter variation, which is a problem because the rotor resistances keep changing because of wear in the brush slip ring contact.
