Abstract
The proposed work presents a model predictive control scheme for the dc-dc boost converter; the control model is based on a hybrid formalization of the physical circuit, and the related optimal control problem is explicitly solved offline for every possible instance of the state vector, thus avoiding any online optimization and rendering the scheme practically implementable. An outer estimation loop is additionally integrated into the setup to account for load variations. Experimental results are provided to substantiate the viability of the proposed control approach.
