Abstract
Summary form only given. Magnetostatic waves propagating in yttrium iron garnet (YIG) thin films are modeled by the nonlinear Schroedinger (NLS) equation containing second order linear dispersion and a nonlinear frequency shift. This model exhibits single and multi-soliton solutions; moreover, solitons have been detected using a delay line setup in YIG films operating in the magnetostatic backward volume wave (MSBVW) configuration. Here we investigate the influence of additional terms in the NLS equation on the formation of the second soliton.
