Abstract
The authors discuss a type of evanescent field fiber immunosensor, based upon a polarimetric detection scheme. In this method the refractive indices of the involved chemical compounds are used as reporters of the binding event; no external label molecules are required. It is demonstrated that a polarimetric setup can be used to detect the adsorption of proteins on the fiber surface.<>
