Abstract
The authors describe a method for designing embedded systems which usually have a sequential nature. They describe top level planning, decomposition of information flow, decomposition of the sequential machine, and sequential programs and their control structure. By explaining gradual and hierarchical design steps, key factors for high-quality design are shown. Key factors for high-quality design based on total quality control are discussed
