Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a model control method without a current detection. In the proposed method, output current is predicted from the duty ratio and the output voltage in order to exclude the sensing resistor. Only the output voltage and input voltage are detected. The bias value of the P-I-D control is changed using the predicted output current. This value is controlled based on the static model of dc-dc converter. It is possible to achieve output voltage stabilization with one thirtieth of integral gain used in the conventional P-I-D control, which helps to improve transient response. As a result, the proposed method achieves superior transient response without the power loss of the current detection resistor. It is also confirmed that the proposed method without current sensing can achieve fast transient response as the digital control method using output current sensing.
