Abstract
Summary form only given. A primitive recording simulation study for perpendicular magnetic recording indicated that the perpendicular M-H loop slope of the recording media plays an essential role in the recording process along with the recording head field. The effect of the loop slope of the media and the write head field gradient on the transition width was investigated based on a micromagnetic calculation.
