  • Abstract
This paper presents a set of new formulations and hybrid algorithms to solve the optimization problem for distribution system planning. The optimization problem is divided into two sub-problems: substation sub-problem and feeder sub-problem. The independence and interaction of the two sub-problems are taken into account so as to efficiently find a near optimal solution. The proposed formulations and algorithms are robust and efficient, and suitable for large-scale distribution systems. Their validity and effectiveness are demonstrated by applying them to numerical example systems and comparing them with existing methods.
