  • Abstract
This paper describes the design of a pipelined parallel array multiplier on quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) nanotechnology, which promises very dense circuits and high operating frequencies with a single homogeneous layer of the basic cells. Recently formulated design principles enable us to construct a massive systolic array, which operates reliably without the noise coupling problems disturbing previous designs, verified with the QCADesigner coherence vector simulation. The performance of the pipelined array multiplier is superior to that of the previous serial-parallel multiplier proposal, although achieved by the ultimate performance-area tradeoff.
