Abstract
A set of techniques is described that extends the measurement dynamic range of scalar network analyzers to over 100 dB, without compromising accuracy or functionality. The current limitations of scalar analyzers are also described. Some or all of these techniques can be applied by the instrument user. Or, alternatively, Ferretec has combined all of these techniques into a single instrument, the Ferretec 3010 Dynamic Range Extender
