  • Abstract
The authors have been developing a human monitoring system for preventing various kinds of human errors and for realising safe, reliable and comfort public transportation. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the most important physiological indices of human response to a variety of stress environment. Recently, MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) became the centre of attention for its features of small size and low-invasive measurement. In this research, a Mini-Electro-Mechanical-Systems apparatus was introduced for measurement of ECG. R-R intervals of heart beat during operation were extracted by using a filtering technique, and this helps to reach the stage of practical application of in-situ analysis and evaluation of heart rate variability.
