Abstract
Summary form only given. Minnesota Power (MP) is an electric utility with approximately 1600 MW of peak demand serving approximately 134,000 customers across a 26,000 square mile service territory in northeastern Minnesota and 14,000 customers in northwestern Wisconsin. Minnesota Power´s primary goal is to meet the electric service needs of its customers by providing low cost, safe, reliable and environmentally sound electric energy. The challenge for Minnesota Power in the MISO Day 2 market is to continue delivering low cost and reliable energy to customers while optimizing the new opportunities presented by the market. The presentation includes various items that Minnesota Power considered as it evolved its bidding strategies and Minnesota Power´s experiences in some of its challenges are presented.
