Abstract
Remarkable progress has been made on quantum key distribution (QKD) in the last several years. With a QKD system using an attenuated laser source, the key distribution distance reached 200 km. However, to increase the distance even further, we eventually need multi-node quantum communication systems with distributed quantum entanglement. Here, we review our recent work designed to realize entanglement-based quantum communication systems over optical fiber networks.
