Abstract
A planar dipole antenna for on-body channel propagation study has been designed. It operates at center frequency of 2.45 GHz. The antenna has an integrated balun on the same substrate, which makes its impedance and radiation performance less susceptible to the presence of a human body. The path gain between two identical antennas is measured as a function of their position on the human head. These results are verified by numerical simulations where a precise model of human head is implemented. The results are analyzed and discussed.
