Abstract
Summary form only given. The thermally activated spin-waves are expected to monitor the ultimate performances of future storage devices based on magnetic dot-patterned media in which each dot stores one bit of information. We report a Brillouin light scattering (BLS) study of such spin-waves in arrays of Permalloy micrometer-size square dots; these arrays were obtained by patterning a 290 nm thick continuous permalloy film using a process combining electron beam lithography and ion beam sputtering.
