Abstract
A mathematically pure description of the black box behavior which can be considered as an elementary process of learning is given. It can be modeled with the help of a dynamical system in a plane quite naturally. Transition to the state with long-term memory is related to the Hopf bifurcation which occurs inside the unstable limit cycle. An example of a system which is capable of elementary learning is presented and studied in detail
