Abstract
Many people in Saga prefecture have looked forward to Ariake-Saga Airport, which has just opened, for many years. In the process of constructing the airport facilities, an arterial road running from Saga city to the airport, which used to be divided by a moat in front of the prefectural office building, became a straight route by constructing a road bridge. As a result, different traffic flow occurred which caused traffic congestion from the prefectural office building. To resolve this problem, measures have been taken to check traffic signal phases of all related routes and alter traffic signs to ensure traffic safety and smoothness. For example, scramble controlling that had been in operation since 1972 was abolished
