Abstract
The article presents an educational and design tool that describes the application of market available, yet industry standard, computer aided engineering (CAE) software. The tool is used to simulate the generated waveform of different configurations of power electronic circuits used intensively in motion control and static power converters. Harmonic content is revealed for the various simulated power converter waveforms to provide a simple, yet effective guide for the designer to the optimal control strategy and filter specifications.
