Abstract
The aim of our work is to find a way for generation of a pressure wave in solids with a control time profile in order to induce a chosen solid-state transformation. For solving this problem we plan to use high-power microsecond REB for surface irradiation of a solid target. The merit of such an approach to pressure pulse generation lies in the fact that we are able to control both an amplitude and duration of pulses. It gives the possibility to create in investigated matter the certain intermediate nonequilibrium conditions, which impart to the matter the unique chemical properties.
