Enhanced interoperability and communications for the Highways Agency and English motorways

This paper describes a project initiative aimed at providing a self-establishing, self-healing IP-based broadband network, and associated applications, for enhancing communications at major incidents and disasters. This project forms part of a programme of continued improvement for the Highways Agency´s Traffic Officer Service, and aims to provide a framework which will lead to full inter-working and data sharing with the emergency services.
