Abstract
The authors have jointly developed, with Tokyo Institute of Technology (TITECH), and their software integration partner, NEC, a multi-PETA-scale supercomputer system that consists of commodity processors, graphics processors, and full bi-section InfiniBand topology across 3 rooms over 2 floors and occupying less than 200 ft2. The talk introduces their field experience with large scale system design and deployment. The dual Infiniband fabric using optical fiber technology in the form of active optical cables will be described.
