  • Abstract
We have investigated ultrashort parabolic pulse formation via passive nonlinear reshaping in commercially available normal dispersive optical fibers at 1550 nm. It was investigated parabolic pulse formation in the transient-state regime and in the steady-state regime. The most suitable fiber for pulse reshaping was found. We have shown that femtosecond parabolic pulses can be formed as short as 200 - 300 fs in the transient-state regime and 700-800 fs in the steady-state regime.
