  • Abstract
In view of the power grid vulnerable to lightning damage and fault location problem, using "unblock" idea for reference to provide a new lightning protection devices. Build a arc chain force model under strong gas flow field, analysis the motion situation and length variation of the arc element, study on competition relationship between insulation recovery and voltage recovery in arc gap, calculate the arc extinguishing time of AELPG in the case of transient fault, and verify by large tests. Research the relationship between arc extinguishing time, arcing rate and reignition rate, analysis the effect on AELPG for reducing arcing rate and reignition rate, calculate the lightning trip-out rate under AELPG, and verify the high effectiveness of AELPG for reducing the trip-out rate by long term engineering application.
