Abstract
In the framework of the RMNT SHAMAN research project, models for optoelectronic MOEMS for short range communications are proposed. These models use system parameters available from manufacturers allowing a more reliable simulation using components from different manufacturers and interoperability. Prototype modules, including VCSELs without thermal control, have been developed and used in the project. Module behavior is simulated by models linked by optical, electrical and thermal interactions. Tests are made for high bit rate, short range communication standards. These models allow to manage worst case design as a function of temperature in virtual prototyping. The designer will be able to predict the BER and eye diagram at this level.
