Abstract
The detail design of the pre-compression mechanism of CS assembly, which was one of the important parts of CS support structure, was determined. The support structure of CS assembly should act a role of withstanding the strong electromagnetic forces. After cooling down to operate the superconducting coils, the gap was produced between CS modules and the support structure due to the difference of their thermal expansion coefficients. Therefore, the support structure should also have pre-compression mechanism to cancel this gap. In order to satisfy these requirements, the support structure for CS assembly was designed considering the real procedure to set the pre-compression mechanism and to load the required compression.
