Abstract
An Initial Rate Estimation(IRE) is proposed for pixel domain Wyner-Ziv video coding scheme. The approach is first based on the Lapacian correlation model to estimate the minimum rate chunks required for the Slepian-Wolf encoded data then the encoder adjust minimal rate chunks according to the characteristic of feedback channel and temporal correlation among bitplane, and the suitable initial rate chunks would be obtain to decoder the current bitplane. Experimental results shows that this algorithm greatly reduce decoding complexity without negatively impacting the rate-distortion performance and the encoding complexity.
