Abstract
In communication software, the reusability is considered to be the key to improving software development productivity and is a major factor in reducing the development cycle times for new features and platforms. But reuse can also lead to performance issues if the interactions between the reused and the new software are not well understood for a given architecture. We discuss scaling aspects of the reuse, performance problem the it creates, and our experience in devising procedures to deal with these issues
