Abstract
This paper presents the design of a small printed monopole antenna to be used in wireless implantable body area network (WiBAN) applications. The proposed antenna is implanted into human breast model for in body communication. The gain of the implantable antenna is 0.8 dBi at frequency 2.0 GHz. Whilst in the free space the antenna has a gain of 2.4dBi at frequency 2.5GHz. The final measured result shows satisfactory performance and good agreement with the simulated result.
