Abstract
In recent years, HVDC Transmission has been developed very fast in China. Its main characteristic is bulk power transmission over long distance. Considering the importance and particularity of HVDC transmission, the main aim of different research aspects in HVDC is to keep the steady and reliable operation of HVDC project. As the key part, the control system affects the operation characteristics of HVDC project directly. According to some contingencies during operation and defects during on-site tests in actual projects, this paper points out that it is necessary to optimize parameters of related controllers, and traditional P.I. controller and P.I. controller used in actual HVDC project are described in detail in the paper. In order to optimize parameters of current controller, which is made up of P.I. controller, a simulation system of actual HVDC project is built up, and it shares the same control system with actual project. Current step test is carried on by changing three parameters, including G, Kp and T, of Current controller to acquire response time and overshoot, and then find out optimal parameters. In the paper, all the data get from simulation tests. The analysis of parameter optimization of current controller in HVDC control system is based on the data from simulation tests.
