Abstract
Investigates the possible use of the inverse Simpson´s transform (IST) for designing infinite impulse response (IIR) filters from analog counterparts. Comparative examples show that the resulting digital filter will approximate the characteristics of its analog counterpart better than those obtained by using the bilinear transform. The advantages and disadvantages of the proposed technique are discussed
