Abstract
Several key technologies for a passive double star (PDS) system are presented. Access control using an IC card for the portability of optical network units (ONUs) is proposed. Protection against two security problems is investigated. Two types of digital phase lock loop (DPLL) circuits are designed for timing recovery.
