Abstract
With the emergence of packet switched mobile networks (such as GSM-GPRS) and on-board satellite baseband packet switching, it is necessary to adapt self-similar traffic models (such as fARIMA models) for wireless networks. This paper examines the requirements for self-similar (or LRD) traffic modelling for wireless networks. Relevant features of examples of packet wireless networks are outlined. The unique requirements of wireless networks for self-similar traffic modelling are discussed
