Abstract
A fast, simple, powerful algorithm for performing affine transformation on digital images is presented. The algorithm belongs to the class of scanline algorithms. It is derived from the Catmull-Smith 2-pass algorithm, but the two passes are performed in an interleaved fashion, thereby making it possible to be implemented in a pipeline fashion. The coordinate computations are incremental. Memory requirements are drastically reduced to a little over a scanlines´ worth. The algorithm is implemented as a software prototype using C on a Sun SPARCstation
