Abstract
How to achieve the most economical generation schedule in the premise of ensuring the system transient stability has been concerned gradually in day-ahead generation scheduling by the system operators. A framework of transient-constrained dynamic economic dispatch is proposed to address this issue. This framework aims at allocating generation resources along the whole time horizon subject to static as well as transient stability constraints. Within this framework, a transient-constrained multi-period generation rescheduling model is developed to eliminate the transient stability violations based on trajectory sensitivities method. By rescheduling the power outputs according to the trajectory sensitivities, the transient stability of generation scheduling can be ensured with the lowest extra cost. The numerical results indicate that better secure performance can be achieved by the method proposed in this paper comparing with the traditional single-period rescheduling.
