Abstract
A genetic algorithm was implemented for finding an approximate solution for fitting a combination of Lorentzian lines of a measured spectrum. Mossbauer spectroscopy is applicable to a large number of industrial and scientific applications. The results of the genetic algorithm are compared with those obtained by commercially available and widely used software
