Abstract
Fuses may in the future enter into the DC-link of voltage source converters and the harmonic power losses prediction in fuses are very important for manufacturers in order to predict the life-time and protection level of the converter. The DC-link current has a high harmonic content for an inverter that uses any kind of space vector modulation strategy. The aim of this paper is to find a useful approximation for the AC resistance of a fuse and to predict the harmonic power losses into it when it is fed from an inverter.
