  • Abstract
    This paper proposes an active FSO system that enables a mobile terminal to be tracked for unilateral and short-range telecommunications. The central idea is to incorporate a mechanism that controls the transmittal beam direction. This provides the system with a highspeed and ubiquitous optical communication capability over a conventional wireless network with a lower bitrate for control signal transmission. A prototype of the proposed system is described in addition to the system configuration.
