Abstract
A new BiCMOS programmable current mode logic (PCML) gate is proposed. When the PCML operates in the high-power mode it switches at a speed comparable to that of conventional CML. In the low-power mode, however, the PCML is not to be used as a switch but rather as a low-power storing element. The proposed gate is a prototype for a new type of logic which offers better management of speed and power
