Abstract
A municipal waste of 50 million tons a year has been generated in Japan. There is demand for harmless processing and environmental safety of fly ash. Plasma arc is effective in melting process of one of the fly ash. Incineration and melted processing technology of argon and nitrogen plasma are dominate in Japan. However, there are few reports of radiation distribution emitted from argon and nitrogen plasma arc. In this paper, the magnetohydrodynamics simulations of argon and nitrogen plasma arc are calculated. The calculation conditions are two-dimensional cylinder coordinate system, local thermal equilibrium, and optically thin plasma.
