Abstract
A Petri-net-based model of the distributed queue dual bus (DQDB) protocol is presented. The model is developed and executed with the TOPNET simulation package. The performance indexes considered are the network throughput and the average and the variance of the packet access delay. Performance measures are compared with results in the literature in order to verify the model
