Abstract
A subspace decomposition and matrix pencil (SDMP) method is presented for temporal and spatial parameter estimation of multiple transient signals impinging on an array of sensors. The performance of SDMP methods is compared to that of the coherent signal-subspace processing method, where both methods are quantified. The estimation of the direction of arrival from a deterministic data model is studied, together with the use of the SDMP method on a totally wideband input
