  • Abstract
In this paper, a new technique is proposed for obtaining two-dimensional microwave image of the illuminated medium in order to detect concealed objects. The required image is obtained by scanning the medium under test (MUT) in the two-dimensional plane under the assumption that the MUT is illuminated with a plane wave and the scattering parameters are measured at all sampling locations. The resultant image is obtained in terms of the measured scattering data by solving the inverse scattering problem at each sampling location using the Riccati equation based renormalization approach.
