Abstract
The visual perception of variations of the brightness in lamps, caused by variations in the feed voltage, is the phenomenon known as "flicker". The paper describes the application of digital signal processing (DSP) to the development of a UIE/IEC flicker meter. The functional and basic aspects of the project are reviewed, and the impact of the use of a frequency of 60 Hz is analyzed in the norm. The proposed development is applied to the MATLAB program, which has a solid mathematical platform for the development of these applications, and to the Code Composer Studio development system for the TI TMS320C6711 family of DSPs.
