  • Abstract
The structure of the moving plate launched by the racetrack-shaped pancake coil electromagnetic launcher is flat, and the accelerating distance of the moving plate is short. The traditional light barrier velocity measurement system is difficult to achieve short-accelerating-distance multi-point velocity measurement, and the cost of high-speed video camera is expensive. Therefore designing a simple structure velocity measurement system which can measure multi-point velocities is needed. In view of the above requirements, this paper designed a multi-layer aluminum foils target velocity measurement system, and the multi-point velocity measurement was actualized. On this basis, the feasibility and reproducibility experiments were achieved, and the measurement error was calculated and analyzed. The results show that using multi-layer aluminum foils target to measure the velocity of moving plate is feasible and the error of reproducibility experiments is less than 8%, which meet the designing requirements.
