Abstract
Numerically investigation is carried out for natural convection in a partitioned enclosure in the present of horizontally magnetic field. The vertical walls are maintained isothermal at different temperatures and other walls are adiabatic. Two insulated partitions are located on horizontal walls. Non linear governing equations for the fluid flow and heat transfer are solved for different partition position and different Hartmann numbers. Rayleigh number and Prandtl number are 105 and 0.01, respectively. A finite volume code based on Patankar´s SIMPLER method is utilized. It is found that as Hartmann number and partitions height (Hp) increase the mean Nusselt number decreases and the non-dimensional partitions position (Dp) affects on streamlines and isotherms. Also regardless of partitions position and their dimensions, by applying magnetic field the Nusselt number is reduced and approaches to a constant value.
