Abstract
Knowledge on extent of changes in magnitude and oscillations of voltage on the power network buses due to load changes on the weak buses, facilitate appropriate identification of wind source interface points in a power network and design of controllers provided with the wind power generation and delivery facilities. This paper addresses the influence of the basic network parameter based descriptors on voltage stability, detects the network weak points using voltage stability indices, and evaluates the change in voltage magnitudes and oscillations on the network buses due to the load changes at these weak buses. Voltage stability indices have been used for ranking the relative weakness of the buses.
