Abstract
The digital matched-filter (DMF) is studied extensively in order to derive the analytic expressions of the pseudo noise (PN) code acquisition by one dwell decision and two dwell decision approaches respectively. Numerical analysis is also given. It is shown that the proposed circuit based on the DMF can accelerate the process of the PN code acquisition Therefore; it is beneficial to the burst mode transmissions. Under the condition of low signal noise ratio (SNR), the speed of PN code acquisition is sensitive to the threshold of detector. In such circumstance, the approach of the two-dwell decision has better performance than the approach of one dwell decision.
